Este artículo analiza el contenido del Reglamento (CE) núm. 4/2009 del Consejo, de 18 de diciembre de 2008, relativo a la competencia, la ley aplicable, el reconocimiento y la ejecución de las resoluciones y la cooperación en materia de obligaciones de alimentos. Se trata del primer instrumento que ofrece una respuesta de conjunto a todas las cuestiones que, desde la perspectiva del Derecho internacional privado, plantea esta institución. El estudio de sus aspectos esenciales permite realizar una valoración de su compleja regulación.
This article analyzes the content of the Council Regulation (EC) nº 4/2009 of 18 december 2008, on jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of decisions and cooperation in matters relating to maintenance obligations. It is the first instrument that provides an overall response to all the questions arises from the perspective of the Private international law, regarding maintenance obligations. Reflecting on the essential aspects allows an assessment of its complex regulation.
