Publishing guidelines

Studies and Notes

Minimum recommended length for studies is 85,000 characters (including blank spaces).The maximum recommended length for a study is 120,000 characters (including blank spaces).

Approximate length for Notes should be 55,000 characters (including blank spaces). Notes have a more specific and limited scope, although they must meet the same scientific quality standards.

Both Studies and Notes must meet the following formal requirements according to the journal’s style guidelines:

  1. Name of the author: below the Title, in14-point bold type, centered. A footnote marked by an asterisk (*) will indicate the author’s affiliation, e-mail and contact details, together with other relevant information.

  2. Summary of chapters in roman numerals, in small capital letters (except for the word “Summary”), 10-point type. Left margins: 2 cm; right margin: 12 cm.

  3. Title of the work in Spanish and in English.

  4. Abstract in Spanish and in English.

  5. Keywords in Spanish and in English.

  6. Font:

    • Text: Times New Roman, 12-point type, justified.

    • Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10-point type, justified.

  7. Single line spacing.

  8. Paragraph spacing (before and after): 0.

  9. Right and left margins: 3 cm; bottom margin: 4 cm.

  10. Footnotes and citations:

    • Footnotes will be numbered in Arabic numerals.

    • Books: Last name and first name (initials or abbreviation) in capital letters; title in italics, edition, publishing company, town, year, and pages:
      Example: PEREZ PEREZ, J., La financiación del desarrollo, 10ª edición., Europa, Valencia, 2008, pp. 78-91.

    • Articles: Title between quotation marks, name of the journal or collective work in italics:
      Example: PEREZ PEREZ, J., "La dimensión europea de la cooperación al desarrollo", Revista Electrónica de Estudios Internacionales, no. 8, 2004, pp. 4-15.

  11. Structure:

    • Example:
      (Capital letters, 16-point bold type, centered).
      (Roman numeral, small capital letters, 14-point bold type, left justified).
      1. First section
      (Number, normal 12-point bold type, left justified).
      A) First subsection
      (Capital letters, normal 12-point type, indented)
      a) Other headings
      (Lowercase letter, italics, 12-point type, indented).
